Johor Ramsar sites are wetlands
of international importance which has been recognized by the Bureau of the
Ramsar Convention in Geneva on the 31th. January 2003.
The Ramsar Convention was
established on February 2, 1971 in the City of Ramsar, Iran has set resolutions
related to conservation and wise use of wetlands and wetlands recognized as a
very important ecosystems for biodiversity conservation and community life of
International Importance especially as residential areas and breeding habitat
for waterbirds.
Celebration of World Wetlands
Day is celebrated on February 2 each year in conjunction with the establishment
of the Ramsar Convention in Iran. World Wetlands Day is celebrated every year
with various activities of conservation and environmental education.Opening Ceremony will be held at Tanjung Piai Johor National Park on 2 February 2013, at 10.00 am and will be officiated by Tuan Haji Muji Bin Salimon, Pontian District Officer with the theme of "Wetlands Take Care Of Water".

Celebrate World Wetlands Day
celebration at the state level which is celebrated on February 2 each year.
Take the opportunity to
introduce Johor Ramsar sites closer.
To disseminate information
and knowledge about the importance of mangroves to local communities and
external communities of various age groups.
